Standardization of Remote Sensing Usage for Forensic Ecotechnique: forest and trees

The thesis presents the main points of standardization of remote sensing (RS) usage for Forensic Ecotechnique: forest and trees (FEft). Based on the study FEft expertise database, the types of expertise, which remote sensing data have already been used and the types where the use of remote sensing increases the exactness of solutions were analyzed. RS data are essential in a problematic situation when an examined object does not exist or has been changed at the time of the assignment. This situation may be solved by obtaining information about the investigated object via retrospective image data, as described in the model example. There are chosen categories of image data relevant to the needs of experts in this thesis. These categories of RS data and their products are described with an indication of their possible use in the expertise processing, including freely available or paid resources and archives of image data.

Evaluation of global changes in forest area based on remote sensing data Abstract: The aim of this project is using remote sensing data to assess change in global forest area. This work should give the outline of the principles of land cover classification, with a focus on forests based on satellite images, but also show a real solution in the evaluation of changes in forest areas in two selected regions. The first part is performed a literature review of all aspects of this sub-topic from the basic principles of remote sensing across the typology and characteristics of satellite sensors, which are giving the satellite images to land cover classification systems and characteristics of forest area. The next section describes the basic procedure for classification of satellite imagery and its possible variants. In my work there are explain the image corrections, the supervised and unsupervised classification, the method of checking the accuracy of classification or use of software. Selected area for my work was Riau in Indonesia and state of Oregon, USA. To these regions there are demonstrated practical procedure for classifying land cover and then its changes from the forest areas. The aim of the project is to perform object based change detection of land cover in specific areas of Czech republic. Landsat 2000 and Spot 2006 satellite images are used as input data. The method used for evaluation of changes is Multivariate Alteration Detection unsupervised method which is based on statistical procedures and is available from e-Cognition software. The results of detection are compared with Corine Land Cover changes database to evaluate degree of parity on detected areas. Different mapping unit is used to be able to detect smaller changes than Corine database. First part of the work is review of literature sources aimed on processing of satellite images, description of the spectral behavior of landscape objects, origins of Corine Land Cover database and principle of change detection using MAD. Second part deals with data adjustment, change detection process and comparison of reached results with Corine. Light pollution and protection of night environment in the Czech Republic

Light pollution serves as a term for negative effects of artificial light at night which has increased in the last decades. Overview of those effects is summoned in this thesis along with analysis of the current state of night environment in large protected areas of the Czech Republic obtained from satellite images. The first part of thesis describes physical characteristics of light and its physiological perception, present lighting technology and its progress toward LED sources. Characterization of light pollution, its causes and sources, monitoring techniques and of present situation worldwide follows. Impacts of light pollution does not include only decreased night sky visibility but a large scale of effects on human health, animals, plants and ecosystems, safety and security or economy; as a consequence some areas implemented laws regulating light pollution. Key steps in standardization of aerial photography (remote sensing) usage for forenzic ekotechnique: forest and trees needs

The description of key steps for remote sensing data usage as base data for forensic ecotechnique expert opinions is a topic of the article. In accordance with systematic methodology in forensic ecotechnique, all accessible information about an object of examination should be employed. It follows that remote sensing data usage for expert opinions working out in the field of Forensic ecotechnique: forest and trees is necessary. Remotely sensed data was divided into three categories: aerial photography, radar imaginary, and satellite data; all with basic characteristics. The main problem of the standardization of remotely sensed data usage is in its dynamic development which has an impact of conditions for obtaining the data from different subjects dealing with pictorial data processing.
Visual data aplication by examples of expertises in forensic ecotechnique: forest and trees and other forest evaluation projects

The aim of the article is to compare aerial data usage in Forensic Ecotechnique: Forest and Trees (FEFT) present practice with current pictorial data processing technology. The method of visual data usage standardization is based on finding a unified process in data obtaining and data interpretation for particular types of expertises in terms of FEFT expertises typology. Forest evaluation by remote sensing is a non-destructive method which we can use in preserve natural areas, furthermore remote sensing offers possibility of the evaluation of a surveyed object that does not exist at the time of an expertise submitting.

Mapování současného stavu vegetace při horní hranici lesa na území NPR Praděd

The aim of the thesis was to derive complex information of the current vegetation cover in the alpine treeline ecotone in Praděd Reserve by using remote sensing. Particularly thesis focuses on an area and expansion of dwarf pine (Pinus mugo Turra) at site above the alpine treeline ecotone around the peak Praděd. Two types of aerial photograph from 2000 and 2012 and satellite images from Landsat 7 (yaer 2000) and Landsat 8 (year 2013) were used for mapping vegetation. Supervised and unsupervised classification accesses and also "per-pixel" and objected classification methods were used in image processing. All the classifications confirmed expansion of dwarf pine stands in the alpine treeline vegetation. Most precise method was based on supervised objected classification.
